It's May. Wow. It's already May. May is always mad, and it doesn't seem to be much different this year either. I just had a look at my diary. Now I wish I hadn't. I've got a wedding dress to take to a seamstress, a shirt to collect from the tailor, a driving licence to pick up (somehow requires two trips), a school trip to the opera, wedding guests to help, a tax return to file, as well as parents' evenings, presentations, tests to set, invigilate and mark, summer homework to find and reports to write. If I can I'd also like to chase up the ASL (It's the fourth time I've requested my health card to no avail!) find a hairdresser, see a specialist for my allergies. I have no idea how people with children do it. It's hard for me to remember what I'm supposed to be doing and there's only one of me.

Of course it doesn't help that I make my life more difficult. Today I went to do my tax return, the 730, or even more specifically - la sette trenta (they don't like it if you call it the settecento trenta!) - I had the last appointment going, but went to the wrong office, because there were two CAFs very close to each other. In my total ignorance to how the Italian tax system works I assumed that CAFs were all run by the same government funded organisation, like the Citizens' Advice Bureau in the UK. I waited almost an hour before we figured out my mistake. When it became clear that I was in the wrong place I sprinted out of there and down the road to the other where I, panting, announced my arrival. I needn't have worried. They were running an hour late! As per usual the person behind the desk wasn't totally confidence inducing, but it seems to be finished. They also booked me in for another appointment... in May 2015. I almost feel slightly suspicious about such a degree of organisation in Italy.

What with the endless trips to the INPS, ASL, ACI and the Agenzia delle Entrate this March you'd think I'd start to get more zen about it all... but somehow I don't!

This will have to do!

Any way, this was all a long winded way to say, I probably won't be writing any blog posts in the coming weeks!

If you find a hairdresser worth recommending, please pass along the info. I give up on them in our area...they just don't get the fact that I don't want to look trendy and try to persuade me from the simple wash-and-wear look that suits me fine.

Love your comment about feeling suspicious of any hint of organisation!
